MO BUS Phase II Implementation
- MO BUS on major heritage corridor, linking people to Lingaraj & Sisupalgarh, from November 30
- Connectivity from Sikharchandi Vihar up to Lingipur (Route no. 11 ) with 49 MO BUS stops.
- 21 MO BUS vehicles to ply every 8 minutes during peak hours.
Bhubaneswar, November 29: Under Phase II implementation of MO BUS, Route no. 11 connecting Sikharchandi Vihar to Lingipur, would be open for passengers from November 30, 2018. A total of 21 MO BUS (14 Non AC & 7 AC) would ply on this route, connecting 49 bus stops, and the services would be available from morning to 10 pm at night.
The route no. 11, originates from Sikharchandi Vihar, runs via Master Canteen and ends at Lingipur, covering a total stretch of about 20 kilometers. This is one of the major transport corridor in Bhubaneswar, linking citizens and tourists alike to heritage monuments such as Lingaraj Temple, Kedar Gouri Temple, and Sisupalgarh and also to the Infocity areas. There are a total of 49 Bus stops, which includes major stops like Infocity, Sailashree Vihar, Acharya Vihar, Vani Vihar, Satyanagar, Master Canteen, Kalpana, Ravi Talkies, Samantarapur, etc. The route will also benefit commuters travelling to prominent medical institutions in the city i.e. KIMS Hospital, Kalinga Hospital and Apollo Hospital.
To meet the demand of this transport corridor, 21 MO BUS vehicles, including AC buses, would ply on this route at eight minute interval during peak hours and 15 min interval on other times of the day.
The Phase II implementation for MO BUS covers a total of six routes- Route No. 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 & 15, of which Route no. 10 - connecting Nandankanan to Airport was opened with 20 MO BUSes in mid- November. This route would soon be extend up to Cuttack. With arrival of more buses, rest of the routes would get operationalised, in phases.
